Background

This research will test the assumption that people with a visual impairment make less independent journeys than they would wish to due to poorly designed features within the built environment. Information gathered from the questionnaire will be used to identify the main barriers to access for visually impaired people within UK city centres.
The ultimate outcome is that the information gathered in the questionnaire would be combined with further studies and may inform the creation of a new set of design guidelines to update the current Building Standards.
